Paalak Paneer (Spinach with Cottage Cheese)
Recipe to prepare “Paalak Paneer”: Ingredients: 1. spinach (paalak) – 2 bunches 2. tomatoes – 6 medium size 3. garlic – 12 cloves 4. cooking or refined oil – 1 table spoon 5. ginger – 1/2 inch 6. onion – 1 medium bulblet 7. dried (whole) red chillies – 2 8. turmeric powder – 1/4 tea spoon 9. red chilly powder – 1 tea spoon 10. seasoning (garam masala) – 1/2 tea spoon 11. coriander powder – 1/2 tea spoon 12. salt – 1/2 tea spoon 13. cottage cheese cubes (paneer) – 150 grams Procedure: 1. boil spinach (2 bunches) with tomatoes (4 medium size) and garlic (8 cloves) (note: don’t use water to boil) 2. allow the ingredients to cool to room temperature, and reduce them to a paste 3. heat 1 table spoon cooking or refined oil 4. fry chopped garlic (4 cloves) 5. add chopped ginger (1/2 inch) 6. add chopped onion (1 medium bulblet) 7. toss and fry for a while 8. add pieces of 2 dried (whole) red chillies, and stir 9. add the following spices: a. 1/4 tea spoon turmeric powder b. 1 tea spoon red c
