Elba's Puerto Rican Pernil-Pork Shoulder Picnic RecipeToday I will be cooking a traditional Puerto Rican Pork Roast which we refer to as Pernil- Pork Shoulder Picnic, the meat of choice during the Christmas Holiday. Side dishes that compliment the pernil are: Arroz con Gandules- Tostones- White Rice- Red Kidney Beans- Yuca Salad- Bacalao Salad- Pastelillos/Meat Turnovers- Desserts that will compliment the meal are: Bread Pudding With Vanilla Sauce- Arroz con Dulce/ A Sweet Rice Pudding- Cream Cheese Flan- Don`t forget to subscribe to my channel, so that you can be notified when I post a new video.     @DEEJAV123 Thank you for your comment. Yes I did say I would increase the temperature after the 4th hour of cooking, but after looking at the pernil I left it at the same temperature and removed the foil and it turned out great.

    I am trying your receipt on Thanksgiving. I am cooking a turkey and a 10LB pernil in the same oven around the same time, but I am cooking my turkey at 325 degrees. How long should I cook the pernil if the oven is set at 325 degrees? I would also like to know if I should raise the temperature when I remove the foil off the roast?
